About Our Festival

Dates & Location

AMJam is a 3-day camping, music and arts festival scheduled to take place from Friday, May 23rd through Sunday, May 25th at Deerfield’s Amphitheater, in the Mills River community, close to the Asheville Airport.

Mission

We invite you to join the Ashville Music Jamboree (AMJam) and help us create an event that mirrors the true spirit of Asheville with its picturesque scenery, unbridled talent, and limitless hospitality which has captured the hearts of poets, painters, princes and paupers alike. Regardless of status or standing, people have been drawn here from across the map, sharing their talents and ideas to create a cultural tapestry that's enormously rich in diversity and unrivaled beauty. May 23rd through May 25th, AMJam will embrace that diversity and beauty, inviting patrons from all walks of life to enjoy an eclectic mix of world-class entertainment and to celebrate a unique sense of community consciousness that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Music, art and dance devotees of all ages will gather to make new friends and renew old relationships. Children will laugh and sing, share and learn. Families will tuck away their laptops and gaming systems to rediscover the simple pleasure of each other's company. And couples will stroll by sparkling ponds as the festival's sounds and pageantry unfurl around them.

AMJam will feature over 30 talented musical acts on two stages, an impressive children’s compound, full crafter’s village, food vendors, and non-profit organizations to educate and encourage social and ecological consciousness. There will be scheduled workshops, activities, and a kid’s parade, as well as spontaneous drumin’, pickin’ and playin’!

Venue

The Second Annual AMJam is happy to be held, once again, at Deerfield’s Amphitheater, located 20 minutes south of Asheville in the Mills River Community. The retreat is a 940-acre family-owned tract of unspoiled wilderness offering camping, swimming, and hiking. Surrounding the ponds and two authentic cabins, apple orchards and rhododendrons cascade throughout the Queens Creek Mountains. Tent camping will be plentiful, with a secluded family camp ground set aside. Car camping and RV passes are also available at an additional cost.
